Proposal - Downtown Muskegon Dog Park
This document was only an exercise in proposal writing; no funding agencies were contacted in the making of this piece.
The proposal is written on behalf of a group that is seeking funding to create a dog park and green space in my home town of Muskegon, MI.
First, I identified an issue in my community that a specific project would be able to address. After framing the situation, I researched nonprofits and funding agencies in the area that would undertake such a project. Once those factors were established, I outlined goals and objectives, detailed the steps that need to be taken to reach those goals, developed an evaluation plan, and created a budget for the project.
The end result is a comprehensive proposal that expresses the need for a dog park and green space in the downtown area, details how the proposed project will solve the problem, and proves project feasibility. Although this document functioned simply as practice for me, the idea was based on a real community need. The idea was so good that I wasn’t the only one who had it; I’m happy to report that downtown Muskegon is already in the process of building a new dog park.
